Whip-poor-will

We have been blessed early this year with whip-poor-wills.  They are an odd looking little bird, but I absolutely LOVE listening to them call.  I'm sure you've all heard them, always at dusk or nightfall, calling 'whip poor will'.  They do this over and over and over (I've counted up to 90 times before) then stop, and then start over.

They are usually an indicator that nice weather is here to stay.  I've never heard them as early as May before.  Usually we hear them in June or July.
