Spring has come to paradise!

Spring is officially here! We got the baby chickens into their outside pen yesterday, and they are loving it!! They have been dusting, laying in the sun, scratching in the leaves and enjoying being able to run in their pen.

The grown up chickens are enjoying the weather too! They can get out and scratch in the leaves now that the snow is finally gone. They also enjoy the heat of the sun.

The bees are also glad that winter is finally over. They have been bringing in pollen like champs and the queen is already laying eggs.

Dad and I did some spring cleaning in the hive and ended up with quite a bit of burr comb. That means I have lots of beeswax to render. Perhaps I'll do a video sometime!!

Well I'm off to enjoy the sunshine myself! Until next time, Happy Easter and God bless!!

Garth Brooks in Vegas in a...baseball hat??

So I found this Garth Brooks special on TV - a TWO HOUR SPECIAL of his show in Vegas and his wonderful voice. I DVR'd it and am watching it right now.  He was my absolute favorite artist when I was young, and listening to his songs...even his voice floods my mind with wonderful memories.

Finding your own paradise is really that simple. Remember something from when you were young that you just adored??  Do it again! Listen again, watch again. Whatever it was, experience it again.

Paradise found!

De-cluttering my life...DAMN this is hard...

I decided today that enough is enough. I want to get all the junk out of my life...starting with my bedroom.  I wouldn't call myself a hoarder (who knows...maybe I am) but I do tend to keep little things of sentimental value.  Also, I'm lazy, and that doesn't help.

So I'm throwing things in my room away, making room for only the things I want, and I realize that I'm moving things around more than I'm getting rid of things. So I throw a bunch more things away, then keep cleaning.  Pretty soon I'm just moving things around again.

This is really hard.

I know I don't use a lot of this stuff, and I never will, but it really is hard to get rid of things that I had plans for.  I'm hoping that once I have it all gone, I'll feel clean and fresh and ready for a new adventure...but still keeping things simple. I want a simple life, filled with only the people and things that I love.

Wish me luck. I will definitely keep you posted.

I know God will help me.

xoxo
